"Missed" photos

To me, photography is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event as well as of a precise organization of forms which give that event its proper expression.
 Henri Cartier-Bresson - The Decisive Moment (1952)

What if the photographer miss the moment? Would the photos have the same significance and the same expression?
A series of very famous "missed" photos.

Joe Rosenthal - Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima (1945)

Henri Cartier-Bresson - Hyères (1932)

William Anders - Earthrise (1968)

Robert Capa - The Falling Soldier (1936)

Richard Drew - The Falling Man (2001)

Stuart Franklin - Tiananmen Square (1989)

Iain McMillan - Abbey Road (1968)
